Russia “too awful”

Florence Vansittart Neale was depressed by the latest news of the Russian Revolution and its impact on the country’s war effort. Alexander Kerensky (1881-1970) was one of the leaders of the February Revolution, but would fall from power later in the year.

22 July 1917
Russia too awful. All army deserting, giving up all fight. Kerensky made Prime Minister.
