Russians allegedly on Salisbury Plain

Florence Vansittart Neale still believed the rumour of Russian soldiers training in England.

9 September 1914

Henry, Phyllis & I to Windsor. PLB [???] took out 2 nurses [for] a drive. We all to tea with Matron…

We taken up a trawler with 200! Mines. Still no real mention of Russians, but hear they are on Salisbury Plain, recruiting their horses. Canadians arrived. News better. Allies pushing back the Germans all along the line. 2,000,000 engaged!!
